Preserve Mac Forte Ingredients

Advanced Nutrition for Your EyesPreserve Mac Forte:  Advanced nutrition for your eyes that is the only doctor formulated ocular supplement exclusively produced in U.S. labs based on the AREDS and AREDS 2 Studies that blends precise quantities of 27 high quality ingredients promoting healthy eyes and supporting full body health, which is triple tested using a 3 step purification process ensuring the purest quality in every bottle.

When looking for a quality vitamin for macular degeneration there are two essential things that you want to research.

1.  The Ingredients:  Not all eye vitamins are created equally!  Many vitamins that are being marketed to people suffering from macular degeneration don’t even contain the minimum ingredients that were studied in AREDS by the  NEI (National Eye Institute).  These vitamins may be cheaper, but they are not effective.  Look for supplements that contain Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Copper, Zinc, Lutein, Zeaxanthin, and Lycopene.  Also, be sure to compare the amounts of each ingredient with other brands.

2.  Country of Origin:  Nowadays, it can be hard to know where products are being manufactured.  This website does not recommend purchasing an ocular supplement that is manufactured outside of the United States.  Preserve Mac Forte is manufactured in the United States of America.  It is made in an FDA compliant US laboratory which is ISO 9001 certified and ISO 17025 accredited, which simply means that there is plenty of quality assurance to guarantee you are getting a safe and high quality product.  Preserve Mac Forte is also triple tested using a 3 step purification process ensuring the purest quality in every bottle.

The ingredients of our eye vitamin supplement contains a proprietary blend of all the proper antioxidants that have been shown in the AREDS and AREDS 2 studies to help slow the progression of macular degeneration (AMD).  Below you will see that our formulation has more of all the good vitamins and minerals compared to a popular store bought brand.

I’m currently taking MacuHealth and it contains no vitamins and want to know the difference in your Preserve Mac Forte and what makes it better.

admin April 9, 2014 at 6:19 pm

Here are several reasons that Preserve Mac Forte is better than other eye care supplements and what makes it different.

1. It contains the power of the Magic 7 which is made from the 6 items (vitamin c, vitamin e, zinc, copper, lutein, and zeaxanthin) that the National Eye Institute proved to slow macular degeneration (in their AREDS 2 study), plus contains lycopene (which is found in tomatoes). Lycopene belongs to the same class as lutein and zeaxanthin. Studies have also linked lycopene to a lower risk of cardiovascular diseases and cancer.

2. Preserve Mac Forte contains FloraGLO lutein. This is the same type of lutein that was used in both AREDS 1 & 2. Make sure your vitamin says FloraGLO Lutein on the label, otherwise, it is not the same quality as used in studies.

3. Preserve Mac Forte has a 5 to 1 ratio of lutein and zeaxanthin. This is the same balance that occurs naturally in foods and in your eyes. Other products use a 2 to 1 ratio which is not as effective.

4. Preserve Mac Forte is was created by a physician who has macular degeneration. He wanted a product that he believed would be superior to other products available to protect his vision and keep him from going blind.

5. Preserve Mac Forte is Triple Test Certified. This means that it must pass a stringent 3 step purification process ensuring that it contains the highest quality ingredients with no contaminants. Some studies show that has high as 50% of other vitamin supplements they test contain contaminants or different amounts of ingredients than on the label.

6. Preserve Mac Forte is produced in the United States of America in an FDA inspected facility adhering to cGMP practices (Current Good Manufacturing Practices). This ensures quality.

7. Preserve Mac Forte contains an additional 20 ingredients above and beyond the Magic 7. This means that it has a total of 27 active ingredients that not only protects the health of your eyes, but also offers full body support. Many customers save money with Preserve Mac Forte because they stop buying a general health vitamin each month and only take Preserve Mac Forte.

8. Preserve Mac Forte is beta-carotene free! Not only does this make our product safe for smokers, but it also improves the effectiveness of the lutein and zeaxanthin. If you take a product that contains BOTH beta-carotene AND lutein with zeaxanthin, then the beta-carotene is “fighting” with the lutein and zeaxanthin to be used effectively by your body. Your product should only have lutein and zeaxanthin and not beta-carotene. This was discovered in AREDS2 by the National Eye Institute.

9. Preserve Mac Forte comes with a 90 day money back guarantee. You always have a full 90 days to try the product risk free. If you are not satisfied for any reason, then you can return the empty bottles for a full refund (less s/h). You even get a full 12 months to return unopened bottles for a refund… no questions asked! If you can find another company offering this strong of a guarantee, then they copied it from us.

Dr. Ringold,
I had Macular Degeneration, primarily in my right eye for aout 7 years. Dr. Gechter, my specialist, told me yesterday that he would not do cataract surgery on my left eye that appears to have no macular degeneration, like the right eye. The cataract surgery on my right eye improved my vision outside of the macula area. Since the related vision problem emerged, I tried a score of pill-pushers’ products, that turned out out only an exercise in futility. Very impressed by your website, I’d like to take chance on Preserve Mac Forte. Before ordering however, I’d appreciate you kind response to my question – How long I’d have to be on Preserve Mac Forte ‘before noticing any positive results. Sincerely, Gabriel (87)

admin December 19, 2013 at 3:31 pm

Gabriel, I apologize profusely for this late response. We were not receiving notifications from comments and hadn’t manually checked in quite some time. Please forgive us. This is not normally the case and have corrected the issue. To answer your question… vitamins are taken with the goal of “slowing” AMD. The National Eye Institute has done 2 large studies called AREDS and AREDS 2. They found that it only possible to slow the progression of the eye disease and not improve or restore lost vision. The positive results that we all hope for is to slow the progression. This is why it is important to get regular checkups and have your eyes monitored by your physician so that they can give you feedback on how the disease is progressing. Take Preserve Mac Forte, don’t smoke, eat plenty of green leafy vegetables, get regular exercise, and get regular eye exams from your eye care specialist for your best opportunity to fight this eye disease.

Cece Workman January 2, 2013 at 8:49 pm

I have been giving Preserve Mac Forte to my husband for almost 2 years. He has Macular Degeneration (Dry) and says his sight seems to be better. His doctor looked at his eye and said the Degeneration seems to have slowed down greatly. But I shoed him the botte of Mac Forte and he said not to give my husband these pills as it has too much Vitamin A and said Vitamin A speeds up Macular Degeneration. Therefore I am in a quandry. Is he correct or just mislead. Please advise.

admin January 3, 2013 at 10:54 am

Cece, there is no study that we are aware of that suggests Vitamin A speeds up macular degeneration. However, research does suggest that high doses of Vitamin A can increase the risk of lung cancer in people WHO SMOKE or former heavy smokers. If your husband does not smoke, then I would base your decision based on the great results that your husband has had using Preserve Mac Forte. If he does smoke or was a former heavy smoker, then you may want to use our product that contains no Vitamin A called Preserve Mac (instead of Preserve Mac Forte). You can find this smoker’s formulation (Preserve Mac) at

Yes, there is zeaxanthin in Preserve Mac Forte. It is listed on the product label under the Vitamin A.

Jack April 24, 2012 at 5:19 pm

You list the main ingredients, but I need to know what excipients, binders, fillers, etc. it contains; specifically, does it contain magnesium stearate and/or stearic acid. In other words, what “additional ingredients” do the capsules contain?

Can you please furnish us with this information?

Thank you.

Tawny Crail November 12, 2011 at 10:14 pm

How many do you take per day and how many per bottle?

admin November 18, 2011 at 10:33 am

Hello Tawny,

Thank you for your question. It is recommended to take 4 to 6 per day with meals. Most people break this down by taking 2 or 3 per meal until they’ve reached the 4 to 6 pills per day. The bottle contains 120 capsules.

Lucy Rotellini November 10, 2011 at 5:05 pm

I’ve had surgery for the third time in the left eye for a hole in the macula, rendering me virtually blind in that eye. would these vitamins help me to regain some vision back there as well as maintaim what vision I have in right eye? I am now taking [another vitamin]. please advise and give me comparisons [of Preserve Mac Forte and my eye vitamin].

admin November 18, 2011 at 10:39 am

Lucy, studies have shown that vitamin supplementation is for “dry” macular degeneration and not necessarily “wet” macular degeneration. It is our belief that NO supplement will help restore lost vision, however, it is important to use a daily supplement that may help slow progression of macular degeneration in your other eye. We do have customers that have wet macular degeneration in one eye and dry in the other and so they use our eye vitamin with hopes to slow the progression of the dry form. Preserve Mac Forte has been created specifically for dry macular degeneration, but it is also an excellent supplement for overall ocular health. In addition, because of it’s robust ingredients many customers also use it to replace their multi-vitamin.

Tootie Aumick October 26, 2011 at 9:43 am

I am interested in the Preserve Mac Forte, as I do have Macular Degeneration in the right eye and have even gotten [name of drug removed] injections and it has not changed, except that I do not have the wavy lines anymore and haven’t from the first injection. Will the vitamin help me at this stage? I do not have a credit card so would have to send a check with an order if possible. Thank you Tootie Aumick

admin November 18, 2011 at 10:51 am

Vitamin supplements with ingredients like Preserve Mac Forte have been shown to slow the progression of “dry macular degeneration.” Specifically, this was demonstrated in a large clinical study called the AREDS study. Preserve Mac Forte is an excellent vitamin supplement for maintaining healthy eyes and it can often be used to replace a multivitamin as well because of its comprehensive antioxidant ingredients of vitamins and minerals. If you have “wet macular degeneration” in one or both eyes, then there is no proof that vitamin supplementation will help slow your progression, however, there are plenty of ophthalmologists who would recommend taking an ocular supplement like Preserve Mac Forte to help maintain healthy eyes.

admin August 16, 2012 at 12:18 pm

Preserve Mac Forte is an eye vitamin that supports ocular and full body health. Macular Degeneration has two forms: Wet and Dry. It sounds like you have the Wet form. Current research does not suggest that vitamins will help with the wet form. Patients with the dry form are recommended by eye specialists to take a daily ocular supplement.
